CHALLENGE
Rebranding a major sports and entertainment complex presents challenges of extraordinary scale. Existing NRG signage had to be removed and replaced with new Reliant branding across multiple venues, including massive exterior stadium identification positioned high above the ground.
Every element required precise engineering, fabrication, coordination, and installation — while maintaining brand consistency across signs ranging from highly visible exterior identities to interior stadium signage.
Adding to the complexity was a demanding schedule that had to accommodate the 2026 FIFA World Cup, including removing the NRG Stadium signage ahead of the event before moving forward with the Reliant transformation.
SOLUTION
Meridian Signs provided a turnkey signage solution encompassing removal, engineering, fabrication, and installation.
For the stadium, Meridian engineered large-scale illuminated Reliant identity signage designed to integrate with existing structural conditions. Detailed planning addressed mounting systems, electrical components, illumination, fabrication, and installation — including the logistics required to lift and position massive sign components high above the stadium exterior.
The program also extended throughout Reliant Park, including interior and exterior stadium signage, exterior signage for the arena and center, and replacement of park branding on the prominent marquee near Kirby Drive and the 610 Loop.
Meridian’s familiarity with the complex provided another advantage. The Meridian Signs team has worked at the property since 2014, when it helped transition the original Reliant branding to NRG, and has continued supporting the campus through structural signage, LED display upgrades, and ongoing maintenance.
